Now that summer is in full swing (or as 'full swing' as summer gets in the UK) I thought it was time to break out the brighter lip shades and dared to go for a bit more red. A friend of mine bought See Sheer a little while ago and though I tried it a couple of times I thought I'd see what I made of it personally. It seemed like a really easy-going coral-pink-red tone, perfect for those of us who are just a little bit too scared of the full on red lip!

You'll see in the swatches that See Sheer is a lustre, so it's very - well - sheer and glossy.

In my opinion this shade came with its pros and cons. Like I mentioned earlier, it's great for the timid makeup user or for someone who doesn't feel like going all out on a bold red, but unfortunately I found it to be fairly drying. I'm not sure if this is the same with all lustres, but if you're liking the idea of this lipstick, definitely use a lip balm with it! 

I also had a little play with using a lip liner with it which looked really lovely. It turned this shade right up, proving you can use it for a bolder lip. I really like the Barry M lip liner in shade 3 but I'm a little scared to venture out into the open with it on because I'm prone to smudging it everywhere and missing some when trying to clean up! I think I'll need a bit more practise!

Anyway, I'm going off topic...

The bottom line: A perfect, build-able shade for day time use in the summer and equally as great for use at night when paired with a red liner. Just don't forget the lip balm!

I'd really like to know if any of your lustre lipsticks have the same drying effect as I found with this one!
