'The Glam Guide' | Fleur De Force
*This post was one I wrote back in the middle of February, and I'm sad to admit that the complete post managed to get lost in the realm of 'un-posted posts', so I have dug it out again in the hopes that you will find it helpful or enjoyable in any way! I've basically left the post as it was so keep in mind the book has been out for a little longer than a week! ;) Enjoy! x*
A huge congratulations goes out to Fleur De Force, who released her first non-fiction book last week. The Glam Guide is perfect for ladies who might be seeking new ways to feel more confident in themselves.
A huge congratulations goes out to Fleur De Force, who released her first non-fiction book last week. The Glam Guide is perfect for ladies who might be seeking new ways to feel more confident in themselves.
In chapters requested by her YouTube subscribers, she provides her tips and tricks to lead a 'glam' life in the readers' own right, covering beauty and hair, to travel and health, and of course, blogging and YouTube.
Fleur makes it clear from the get-go; she didn't want to write a set of rules as if to make out that she is an 'expert' at life. I don't know about you, but I really wouldn't like to read a book like that - I think I'd be a bit intimidated!
But I think Fleur writes as though she is speaking to a friend and gives her advice in a more conversational manner, which is so much easier to read!
Can I also take a moment to marvel over how beautifully designed this book is? Firstly, it's the perfect size for my current handbag (!), and secondly, I just love the vibrant water colours that splash across the pages. The magnificent illustrations were done by Sally Faye Cotterill - now I know where those gorgeous magazine illustrations come from! I think this all adds another cute and girly element to the book and I can't imagine reading it without getting to look closely at the drawings once I've finished each page!
Once again, congratulations to Fleur and happy reading everyone!
