Gabrielle Aplin Inspired Makeup Look
Secondly, this is my first makeup look on the blog! Woohoo!
This look is taken from Gabrielle Aplin's wonderful video for her song 'Please Don't Say You Love Me'. It's one of my favourite songs, so I hope this look does the video justice!
I used my No7 Stay Perfect foundation in the shade 'Calico' and applied some of Collection's Lasting Perfection concealer under my eyes. The shade I used was Light 2 but, since it's Autumn now, I'm less tanned so I need to finish this tube and buy a lighter shade of concealer which, admittedly, would look better when trying to achieve Gabrielle's clear and fresh look.

Next I tackled the brows. Gabrielle's are quite straight and youthful-looking, so using the spoolie end of my Catrice Cosmetics Eye Brow Stylist I brushed mine as straight as I could get them (which is, not very!) and filled them in. The shade I used was 030 Brow-n-Eyed Peas.
As usual, eye makeup is my favourite part of any look. Gabrielle looks like she's wearing a very neutral brown mix to compliment her eyes. To achieve this I used Revlon's ColorStay quad in Addictive by first applying the mid-brown shade (shade 2) across the lid, and accenting that with the shimmery and matte browns (shades 3 and 4) through the crease.
Then I used my MAC Coffee eye pencil, but only to tight-line. She hasn't lined her lower waterline, but I did apply a generous amount to the outer corners to add a little bit of definition. Her lashes in the video are beautifully prominent. I love the false-lash effect for my everyday routine, so Maybelline's The Rocket mascara is the perfect choice, especially if you're a bit sceptical about wearing falsies!
Gabrielle's lips are kept pretty neutral - I used a lip colour that is slightly more plummy and vampy than hers, just to accelerate my excitement for Autumn - but keeping it simple is just fine. If you do want to know which shade I used though, I went for Rimmel's Moisture Renew lipstick in Vintage Pink and just took care not to apply too much because I didn't want to go overboard.
As for the cheeks, Gabrielle's appear quite peachy, but I chose a powder blush by No7 called Cool Pink, again not applying too much because it can appear a little too bright if you overdo it! Finally to finish I dusted my skin all over with a thin layer of translucent powder - this one I'm wearing is No7's Perfect Light Loose Powder.
And that's that! I'm sorry if it wasn't as accurate as you'd hoped - it's just an interpretation - but if you did like it, let me know!
Here's to hoping you have a fantastic weekend!
