I can't contain my excitement, being able to bring you this post. YouTube has been one of my favourite past-times since I discovered it way back in 2007. I have YouTube to thank for encouraging me to blog, and it's also taught me about makeup and embroidery stitches. It's given me hours (and hours and hours and hours and hours...) of entertainment from the likes of Jacksgap, Bertiebertg, ThatcherJoe and so many more, so getting to go to Summer In The City this year was a wonderful experience that I thought I'd share with you.
I don't want to bore everyone with heck loads of writing, so I've included all the best pictures with a little bit of description beneath!
I was lucky enough to meet BBC Radio 1 DJs Dan Howell and Phil Lester a.k.a danisnotonfire and AmazingPhil on YouTube.
Dean Dobbs (of omfgitsjackanddean) and I had a brief discussion on the benefits of being short.
I met some wonderful people in the line to meet Caspar Lee. Here I am, hoping he didn't strain his back!
I stumbled upon Carrie Hope Fletcher (itswaypastmybedtime), who was just as lovely as I had imagined. Emma Blackery blessed us all with her beautiful voice (the way it rang out through the hall is something I won't forget in a hurry), and there was a good ole jump around session to The Vamps who also performed on the mainstage.
I own a YouTube channel myself, but, I'm facing it, the videos are awful. I'm tempted to privatise them and start over. It's okay to do that right?! Going to Summer In The City allowed me to chat to those with the same interests as me as well as giving me the chance to meet the people I look up to and it's wonderful because it's the same for everyone else. It amazed me to realise everyone there had a genuine interest in what you had to say. It makes you feel closer together like that.
The most cheesy part is over, I promise! The conclusion here is that this whole weekend was such an inspiring and awesome event that I don't want anyone to miss out on it next year.
Thank you to everyone involved in Summer In The City for making it such an enjoyable weekend.
