The problem with beauty products is that not all are amazing and do what they're supposed to. Most of the time I put major research into a certain product before I buy it, especially if it's one that's on the particularly pricey side! And most of the time I pick wisely whatever the price range. Unfortunately I'm dissatisfied with one product in particular, which makes me feel slightly sad, because this product comes from my favourite drugstore brand.

I love the Rimmel London 'Wake Me Up' foundation. I liked it so much that I decided to try Rimmel's 'Lasting Finish 25 Hour' foundation, and I have to say it hasn't impressed me much.

Personally it doesn't give me as much coverage as I would like. I can still see redness and blemishes and it doesn't do too well on dry patches skin. It just looks too flaky. In fact, apart from attracting attention to my dry skin, it quite often doesn't look like I'm wearing anything at all! I'm not one for caking my face in foundation - it feels much too heavy. The foundation is supposed to be light, but to me it's so light there's almost nothing there.

I do like the twenty-five hour staying power though. Even though it hasn't all stayed throughout the day I can still feel it (paired with Rimmel's Clear Complexion powder) on my skin and it still comes off on make up wipes.

But the foundation just doesn't do it for me as a whole! I have a close friend who wears the same line, and it looks gorgeous on her. But then again, we're all different, and for me there's something about it that doesn't make the cut.

When I next make a foundation purchase that is Rimmel, I'll definitely be buying the 'Wake Me Up'
